Built for foundations
Announce grants with your grantees, and keep your own team in step.
embargo is press release software for foundations and funders. Your program officers, communications team and president work on one page, each grantee writes its own part, and nothing goes public until everyone you asked has approved it.
Inside your foundation
Program officers write what they know
Ask program staff for the background they know about their grants, with a note on what to cover and a word limit. Your president approves the finished release from their own link.
Amounts and names, checked
Everyone you ask approves the finished release before it’s public. If a number changes after someone approves, you see what changed and can ask them again.
With your grantees
Grantees write their own part
Each grantee gets its own sections, and its director gets one link with what to say, how long it can be and a box to write it in.
Free for grantees
Grantees and co-funders join free from a link in their email. A grant announcement never costs the organizations you fund anything.
A whole cohort, one release
One release can carry many organizations, each with its own section and boilerplate. Reminders go to whoever is late, so you don’t have to send them.
On every release
Reminders that send themselves
Set a deadline and embargo sends the reminders: a countdown before it, then a nudge every two business days to anyone who’s late, at 9 in the morning wherever they are. Each day you get one note saying who’s late.
Out when you’re ready
Set the minute it lifts and give reporters an early look under embargo. When it lifts, every grantee can share the release and post it on its own site.
