Terms of Service

Last updated October 24, 2026

These Terms govern your use of embargo, a service operated by MKT Based Labs, LLC (“embargo,” “we,” “us”). By using embargo, you agree to them.

The service

embargo is software for writing, approving and publishing press releases: a release’s sections go to the people who write them, the people you choose approve the exact words, and the release goes out at the time you set, with an optional public page and newsroom.

Accounts and organizations

You’re responsible for your account, for keeping access to your email secure, and for what happens under your account. Give accurate information, and act for an organization only if you’re authorized to. An organization’s admins manage its members, its press kits and its newsroom. An agency that writes or approves on a client’s behalf needs that client’s authorization.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may remove content, or suspend or close accounts, that violate these Terms.

Plans and payment

Your organization’s first release is free, and the people you invite to a release never pay. Paid plans are as described on our pricing page and as agreed with us when you start one. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices going forward, with notice.

Connected services

If you connect an AI assistant or another service to embargo, your use of that service is governed by its own terms. You can disconnect it at any time.

Availability

We work to keep embargo available and reliable, but the service is provided “as is,” without a warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Termination

You may stop using embargo at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms or to protect the service. On termination, we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, embargo is provided without warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We’ll change the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, let account holders know. Continuing to use embargo means you accept the changes.
